Inferno is the name for GATORZ photochromic lenses. Photochromic lenses transition from light to dark when activated in the sunlight, making them functionable both indoor and outdoor use.

Here is some information that may help you better understand your product:
UV exposure (sunlight) is required for the activation of the photochromic properties
Visual Light Transmittance (VLT) levels (darkness of lenses) are dependent on amount of UV exposure (both time and intensity)
- Not activated: approx. 85% VLT (clear)
- Fully activated: approx. 15% VLT (dark gray)
Approximate activation/deactivation times (controlled environment)
- 60 seconds of exposure: 15% VLT
- 240 seconds after end of exposure: >70% VLT
Below are some factors that can prevent activation or change the speed and level of activation of the photochromic properties:
- Indoors (no activation)
- Overcast conditions (partial activation)
- Inside car (no activation)
- Wearing a brimmed hat (no or partial activation)
- Extreme Temperatures (varying activation/deactivation times)
